Help for iPhone
Recora support
Record and transcribe offline
Allow microphone access, unlock Recora, and choose a workspace. Open the recorder, capture your note, and stop to save. Transcription is a separate action on a saved recording. Keep the app open while it transcribes. Recording and bundled transcription work without an internet connection.
Background recording
Recording can continue with the screen locked or while using another app. Calls and other audio interruptions can stop and save it. Force-quitting the app stops capture. Lock-screen controls require Live Activities to be enabled for Recora in iPhone Settings.
Microphone or authentication trouble
Check Recora’s microphone permission in iPhone Settings. Face ID or your device passcode is required to access notes; the device must have a passcode configured. Cancelled authentication leaves the app locked—use the retry option to unlock.
Keep a copy of important notes
Share audio or transcripts from a recording after confirming the export. Local notes are excluded from automatic device backups. Export important recordings before deleting the app. A recipient controls their own copy.
Optional AI and gateway features
OpenAI features require your own API key, internet access, and separately billed API usage. Review generated results for errors. NIRAPI requires a compatible HTTPS endpoint; local services also need local-network permission and a trusted certificate. Enabled NIRAPI workspaces automatically upload recordings and limit each recording to 30 seconds.
Before requesting help
Note your iOS version, Recora version, and the steps that led to the problem. Keep private recordings, transcripts, and API keys confidential.
